Job Description: To direct and manage the overall risk management process within the specific Business Units, in a manner consistent with the Absa Africa Risk and Group Risk Management policies. Job Responsibilities: Challenge the key controls established by business in the mitigation of these risks. Engage relevant stakeholders in Operational Risk, Market Risk and Economic Capital areas in Absa to ensure that methodology developed for Absa Group caters for the specific nature and needs of the respective business units that the BRO is responsible for. Ensure that business stakeholders identify key risks associated with various elements of the business model, and evaluate the risk universe for completeness and accuracy. Develop and maintain an understanding of the various elements of the business model of the business unit as well as the key role players. Attend relevant forums where direction is taken in terms of the future development of risk management methodology. Job Requirements: 5-7 years experience in the relevant business sector. Business degree or equivalent NQF level 6 – Essential Business-oriented Bachelors Degree [e.g. Accounting, Law, Business Management, etc.] – Preferred 2 years experience in a risk management discipline
