Job Description:

Developing, renewing, and presenting undergraduate and postgraduate modules;

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performing administrative tasks associated with these activities.
  • Actively participating in the research, teaching, and social impact activities of the Department;
  • Applying for external research funding;
  • Serving on departmental and Faculty committees;
  • Publishing in recognised international research outlets or on similar publication platforms;

Job Requirements:

  • First language fluency in one of South Africa’s official languages other than English or Afrikaans, and the ability to function in a multilingual environment;
  • PhD (completed or evidence of near completion) in Linguistics;
  • Specialisation (at PhD level) in the morphosyntax of one of South Africa’s official languages other than English or Afrikaans;
  • Teaching experience in morphosyntax and at least one of the following: language acquisition, phonetics/phonology, pragmatics, psycholinguistics, semantics, sign language linguistics, or
