Nursing Informatics Specialist

Job Description:

Provide Paediatrics and Neonatology specialist nursing guidance and technical assistance to nurses, doctors and other clinical staff for the implementation, maintenance and optimisation of an Electronic Health Record system and other digital health applications to deliver quality healthcare within the division.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective configuration, utilisation and optimisation of Paediatrics and Neonatology digital health systems (incl. EHR)
• Ensure compliance to legal and regulatory requirements
• Manage the configuration, planning and implementation of the digital health systems (incl. EHR) and processes, within the Paediatrics and Neonatology domain, throughout the division
• Assist with the identification and procurement of an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, as well as other IT related clinical applications, that meet the nursing end user as well as Mediclinic’s clinical and patient care needs, within Paediatrics and Neonatology

Job Requirements:

• Work experience in the South African private healthcare sector
• 2 – 3 years managerial and/or training experience in clinical environment
• More than 5 years’ clinical experience in a Paediatrics, Neonatology and/or Neonatal ICU
• Informatics experience with clinical information system implementation, support and optimisation
• Experience working on and/or implementing Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
• User experience with clinical, hospital and/or financial applications/systems within a hospital system
